It's Saturday in the third week of Lent.

Today, I'm going to tell you about Patrick Payton,

the priest who prayed with famous Hollywood movie stars. All right, we are ending the third week of Lent, but we still have another

three weeks until Easter. Lent is a long season, even for adults. But you know what? The joy that awaits us at

Easter makes this long season worth the work. The more you put into Lent, the more you'll enjoy

Easter. At this point in our journey to Easter, you might be feeling tired and ready for Lent to be over.

What can we do when we just don't feel like praying or fasting?

When all the things that were easy at first become hard or boring or just too painful,

today's saint has an answer to all those questions. Patrick Payton grew up in

Ireland in a small cottage with lots and lots of brothers and sisters. His poor farming family

didn't have much at all, but every night they prayed the rosary together. Pat learned that praying the

rosary together brings love and peace to a family. He found that praying the rosary made hard

things easier. Because Ireland was a poor country with not much work for boys like Pat,

he and his brother moved to America, where he worked hard, got an education,

and eventually became a priest. Soon after, the young father Peyton became sick with a very

serious illness. His doctors thought he might die. Pat prayed to Mary, requesting her help.

He promised Mary that if she helped him get better,
