Lent with the Saints.

Today I'm going to tell you about Isidoy the Farmer and setting aside time for prayer.

We're already one week into Lent.

Does it feel like it's gone by quickly to you?

It sure does to me.

You know, sometimes a whole day goes by,

and I get to the end and realize I haven't taken time to pray since I woke up.

Does that ever happen to you?

Do you ever get to the end of a busy day

without having spent time talking to Jesus?

In the busyness of our lives,

with school and sports and chores and homework,

it can be hard to find time to pray.

But whenever we give Jesus our time,

he helps us in return. Let me tell you about St. Isidore.

He always gave Jesus his time, first thing, every day, no matter what. Isidore was a farmer in Spain.

He worked in the fields every day, planting seeds, caring for the soil, and harvesting crops.

But every morning, before going out to the fields, Isidore attended Mass. He did this because

loving and serving God was the most important thing in his life. Unfortunately, going to Mass made Isidore late for work.

But he made up for it when he finally got there, working quickly to catch up.

Then, one day, Isidore got a new boss, Signor de Vargas.

Signor de Vargas wasn't happy with Isidore coming late to work.
