A variety of training modalities are included in the long-term athletic developmental model, included core, balance,

plyometric, and resistance training.

Aside from sport specific skills, these form the base upon which athletic potential is built.

This section will serve as a review of the role of each of these modalities within the design of a training program. Different activities involve these components to different degrees. There is not a minimal effective dose needed for each training modality and some such as core training
