But for the Great Sex Rescue, we conducted the largest survey that has ever been done of Christian women's marital and sexual satisfaction.

We talked to 20,000 women and we asked them all kinds of questions, and one of the big things we were trying

to get to the bottom of is are there certain things that are taught often in

evangelical circles about sex and marriage that keep women from having great sex and marriage.

So we measured all kinds of different teachings and we identified several that are really

quite toxic and those are the ones that we deconstruct in the great

sex rescue for the next few weeks we're going to spend each week looking at a

different teaching and how that's affected sex and this week we are going to

start with a gatekeeping message the idea that boys are going to want to

push your sexual boundaries and a lot of us heard that as teenagers. We actually looked at this in several

podcasts last spring and how this idea can affect our ability to get aroused and our ability to let ourselves go during sex and that was a really interesting discussion. I think that this is one of the big

reasons that women don't get aroused is because we're still playing cop on ourselves once we're
