Last time we followed the French Pirates in the Pacific Ocean through early 1686.

I told you we were going to speed through the rest of that year and into 1687,

and we are, but there are a few major events that took place in the summer of 1686 that are worth noting.

On 9 June, nearly half of Captain Fransois-Groinone's French privateers voted to leave the command of

Francois-Groone.

They wanted to join up with Captain Townley.

The two captains were allies.

They had attacked

coronated together, but they were now on separate crews.

Townley had the bigger ship, and he had seen more success than

Groine in the last few months.
