My friend Dan McClellan (married father of three, active LDS, @maklelan) joins us to share his story how his long academic road (two masters and a PhD) has opened unexpected doors for him to bring his biblical expertise and pastoral heart to bless others. Dan talks about how scripture should not be weaponized and how good scholarship helps us reduce vitriol and bring us together. Dan shares how he started a TikTok account in 2021 and how his work has grown to a major social presence on all platforms. Dan talks about how we should also use scripture teachings to help the marginalized and how they do not support identity politics. 0:39.4	Yeah, my username on social media is the phonetic spelling of that name,
0:44.3	M-A-K-L-E-L-A-N.
0:46.2	And that's how I used to spell my last name for people as a missionary in Uruguay,
0:50.6	because last names that begin with four consonants in a row are a bit rough for many
0:57.2	Spanish speakers.
0:58.7	So, but if I spelled it that way, they would go, McLevin.

1:04.6	Yep, there you go.
1:05.8	Isn't it fascinating your social media handle across all the different platforms ties to
1:10.4	Uruguay? I love that.
1:12.0	And I love that you're consistent with all your platforms.
1:15.6	Yeah. When I came home from my mission, I started using that as a username for accounts that I was signing up for online.
1:23.3	And I realized it was very unique. And I've only, the only place I've ever seen it other than my username
1:29.6	and people parroting my username is like transliterations of Russian articles
