Actually, at the time of recording this is coming up tomorrow. We're really excited about it. I'm sure you guys are to the cast of grapplers is just absolutely phenomenal. And we're both excited about it. So we kind of talk about it and just sort of talk about ADCC and all that stuff in general. Guys, thank you for listening to the podcast. If you would like to support the podcast, as always, you can go to Charlotte's Web. You can check out their CBD products on there if you want to save 10%. Chiu-Jitsu 10 is the code that you can use. Again, and I will always add this disclaimer into every sort of little thing that I, you know, put out there. I don't care if you use Charlotte's Web or anything like that or what company you use. Charlotte's Webb is the one that Eugene and I use, but if you haven't, I would strongly encourage you to start trying CBD and see the results that you get for yourself maybe you know maybe it's not it's not as, you know, awesome for you as it is for me, but it's been pretty wonderful and it's a part of my daily regimen. And also, guys, with extra content, things like that, that we put out extra videos, different things like that. We have it on our Patreon at patreon.com slash the Jiu-Jitsu podcast. You can check that out. It supports the podcast and we deliver some

extra stuff to you extra audio clips from the podcast with the guests. We also throw out

1:14.9

some extra videos there. But again, I'm not going to keep this too long because let's go

1:18.7

and dive into the ADCC predictions. And again, we just ramble about some stuff. So with

1:23.7

that said, let's get to the podcast. And I'm telling you, I've just been really freaking excited about this, for some reason for this tournament. Obviously, it's the biggest, it's the biggest no-ge grappling tournament, you know, that I think in the U.S. Well, I mean, it's the, it's the Super Bowl of No-Gelympp, of Nogi grappling. Okay. I mean, as far as I know, I don't know if it's still the case, they get paid more money. You know, there's more prestige. I mean, you talk about, like, it's every two years. You say, oh, I'm an ADCC championship winner. That's, like, pretty much the, the Ghee of the Worlds, right? The GY Worlds Yeah like it means something like no Geo worlds is still really important still very very important but when you're talking about ADCC you're talking about like you know because of the money and every in the prestige that comes with it you're talking about the the the the best the cream of the crop like that's who's gonna be there you know they get some invites and stuff like that every now and then that sometimes you're like that dude didn't belong here, but cream of the crop. Like, that's who's going to be there. You know, they get some invites and stuff like that every now.

2:18.3

And then sometimes you're like, that dude didn't belong there.

2:20.8

But most of the time, the best dudes are there when you get some monsters. Do you remember how big the divisions are? Do you know exactly? I forgot the full number. I think it's like 16 man brackets per? 16 men brackets and then are half

2:15.6

people that won

2:17.6

and then half are invites

2:18.6

It's something like that half invite 16 man brackets per? 16 man brackets and then are half people that won and then half are invites.

2:36.3

Yeah, I believe it's something like that.

2:37.9

Half invites, half half people that won the trials and stuff like that from

2:41.0

Yeah.

2:41.6

And then so you can automatically, you know, get in by winning either East Coast trials or West Coast trials or whatever in your weight division.

2:48.2

Because that, I mean four six weight divisions

2:50.9

so something like that yeah and I mean like 99 pretty good distance between them

2:56.1

oh yeah every 10 kilograms this is about 20 pounds or something pounds yeah I don't do you

3:01.5

like that as far as I think I saw the rules so the rule said you can't slam out of guard

3:07.4

but you can slam out of submissions yeah and then you can't pull like shirts and shorts and stuff. And then obviously no hair pulling or that kind of thing. But other than that, do you like slamming actually as far as like in jiu-jitsu competition? And what are your thoughts on that? I mean, it depends. I don't think that the average competition said have slamming. I mean, just because, like, I mean, dude, like most competitors, like, I mean, let's be honest, like most people competing in jiu-jitsu, even yourself, right? Myself included. I'm not, I'm not a crazy hardcore competitor like I used to be, right? You know, it's your weekend warriors. Sure. You're going out there to compete. The risk of what happens from a slam is like, you know, it's your weekend warriors. Sure. You're going out there to compete.

3:41.5

The risk of what happens from a slam is like, you know, destroying the discs in your back and your spine and all that stuff. I mean, that's like dangerous stuff. Concussions. Like it's nothing to scoff at. Sure. So I think it would be a terrible thing for the average competition. Now for the ADCC, if that's the rules that they want to go by, I mean, whatever, you know,

3:40.0

I mean, that's the rules that they put in.

3:41.1

I mean, it's definitely, it adds a level of realism to it when you can get slammed on your head. Yeah. Well, I do like it for that component of realism, but I'm not as, you're right, the risk of injury or even getting knocked out.
