Summary
Hey friends! I’m so excited to bring you the another episode in the Behind the Mic series today — I’ve loved hearing your feedback on this series, and it’s been such a joy connecting with other podcasters who love this space as much as I do. Today’s guest is someone I’ve been incredibly inspired by: Dominic Schlueter, the host of The Running Effect podcast.
Dominic started his podcast back in July 2020 — and get this — he was only 15 years old at the time. I actually looked back through some old emails and found pitches from him from over five years ago asking me to be a guest on his show! He just turned 20, and his growth and hustle are next-level. In 2023, he became the youngest person ever to land on Spotify’s podcast charts.
Dominic is incredibly well-researched, thoughtful, and passionate about our sport. He’s had everyone from elite athletes to a member of Congress on the show. He recently interviewed Aleksander Piotr Lingauer, who ran 61 marathons in 61 days with just a backpack — the kind of story that makes you stop and reflect on what it means to chase something real. That’s what The Running Effect is all about: inspiring people to turn their what ifs into reality.
Dominic is also putting in the work behind the scenes — he’s been on-site at events like the the Brooks PR Invitational and he’s consistently putting out high-quality content (we’re talking two Instagram posts a day!). I’m excited to see where this journey takes him.
Let me know if you’re enjoying this series! You can email me at lindsey@sandyboyproductions.com, leave a rating and review on Apple Podcasts (and shout out your favorite guest!), or share the episode on social. You can tag me @lindseyhein626 and Dominic @therunningeffect.
Thanks for listening — I hope you enjoy this conversation with Dominic Schlueter!
