| 0:00.0 | What's up guys? So today on the podcast, we had my buddy Ben Eaton. Ben Eaton, we didn't, man, we got into so much other stuff. But Ben was actually my first, excuse me, my second match is the Black Belt. And before we get into it, I just want to do something real quick. We are taking a survey. It's to basically get an idea as to who actually listens to this podcast. So if you guys could, we'll put the link in the show notes, but if you can go to survey.lipson, L-I-B-S-Y-N dot com slash chujitsu, there's a six-question survey there, some really basic stuff, point-and-click, all that kind of thing. And basically, that'll give us an idea as to who's listening to the podcast uh which will be really helpful to us and you guys can do that we really appreciate it but going back to we're going to talk to ben eating today he's a black belt under salo hubero and the shanji hibero the hiberos association and a super cool guy incredibly nice if you ever meet ben like everyone that's ever met ben has the same sort of thing that they say about him. He's such a good dude. But we talked to him about, you know, the old days. We talked to him about all sorts of different aspects of jihitsu. And again, in our sort of rambling nature, it's the way we do it. We talk about all kinds of different subjects. So I hope you guys enjoy the podcast. As always, if you want to, if you want to support the podcast, you can go to patreon.com slash the jihitsu podcast. I've been wondering, I've been thinking about doing some different stuff with the Patreon. And one of the things that we already do is we add little extras to the Patreon, you know, from the podcast. But one of the things that a lot of you guys have requested on YouTube that I think is just, |
| 1:30.9 | it's a lot more work, but I think it would be really cool to do in some capacity is match |
| 1:36.2 | breakdowns or rolling breakdowns. |
| 1:38.7 | I include a lot of those of my paid products already, like my half guard series and my |
| 1:43.0 | get a grip series. |
| 1:43.9 | But I think it would be cool to like take some of the rolling that my my videographer |
| 1:48.1 | Ryan he he records and basically take those and put them into the Patreon so |
| 1:53.8 | if you're a member of the Patreon or you become a member you'll start seeing some |
| 1:56.9 | narrated rolling hit the Patreon so hopefully that's helpful to you guys with your training |
| 2:01.6 | kind of give you an idea as to some of the things I'm using and how I'm using it. You can also go to charlotsweb.com and use the promo code jujitsu 10 and save 10% on the order with all that promotional stuff out of the way. Thank you guys for sticking with us. Let's get to the podcast. When I tell people when they first start this, you know, and they, you know, they don't have a, they don't have a comparable background, you know, like if a guy's, you know, the guy came up and he wrestled and everything, it's like they work so hard, you know, and it's like, you know, in wrestling, the ultimate goal is to be an Olympian. |
| 2:36.7 | And outside that, very little to nothing, you know, and it's, and I'm thinking, man, these |
| 2:41.7 | guys work so hard their entire lives. And then they graduate high school or college or whatever. |
| 2:48.8 | And then it's like, no, yeah. And I'm like, oh oh God, you know, and then they find jujitsu and they, |
| 2:54.6 | and it kind of takes the place of that, you know, and it's like, so they're already, you know, |
| 2:58.9 | they're already about like, you know, having regimen, having a, you know, having a schedule and |
| 3:05.6 | things like that, you know, but like the people that, you know, |
| 3:09.0 | don't have a background like that, yeah, they'll, they'll want to get very overzealous and be like, |
| 3:14.8 | I'm going to come in two days, five days a week. I'm like, hold on, hold on. I'm like, set the bar |
| 3:19.5 | two days a week. Think of like your worst week ever. |
| 3:26.0 | And make it like a doctor's appointment. |
| 3:28.5 | You know, it's like two days a week. |
| 3:31.0 | And if life gets in the way and you can only make one of those days a week, |
