Episode 564, round two goes to the Germans.

Last time in late November, 1942, as two of the three allied columns penetrating northern Tunisia were blunted,

Lieutenant General Anderson, commander of the First British Army, called a halt to the offensive.

What was lacking, besides numbers, was adequate air cover, a problem the Germans were not having.

Again, General Anderson approved General Eveleg's request to stop the advance

on November 27th, but the Allied initiative had already been stopped, hence the request. The question

and response just made official what had already happened on the ground. Now, it was the Germans' turn. Recalling the quick

honey-light tank raid of Blade Force of the center column on the Jedida airfield, with 20 German

planes being shot up, which was located in between the town of Torboba and Tunis, at Torboba, now sat Brigadier
