My friend Marie Cook (Active LDS, Age 28, Married Mother, Temple Square RM) bravely shares her story growing up in a home with a narcissistic mother. Marie discusses how she gradually realized her unhealthy upbringing and how these behaviors were becoming part of how she treated others. Following a painful breakup, Marie (with the help of friends) walked into BYU-Idaho counseling center to begin her road to healing and to break the cycle in her future family. It is a remarkable story of courage to change her trajectory and now help others. 0:41.3	And specifically narcissistic parents.
0:45.3	Marie has been walking this road with a narcissistic mother and she has felt impressed to talk about this so that it will help others that are children
0:56.6	of narcissistic parents and also perhaps parents that don't recognize these tendencies
1:02.4	or behaviors within them. I will probably learn some things. I don't consider myself a
1:08.2	narcissistic parent, but I may have strains of some of these tendencies.
1:13.2	So I would invite you, if you're a parent, or a future parent, to learn with me on the things that Marie will share.
1:20.8	And perhaps some of us will be kind of sparked in a way that we need to look inward to significantly change things within us
