Yes, we are talking about, it's basically a Japanese fried rice omelette.

Is that like maybe the most concise way of describing it?

Yeah, I think it is.

It is an omelette full of fried rice, but it's more than that.

Oh, it's so much more than that as we will discuss today.

So usually when we do an episode on a specific Japanese food item, it's because it's something

that I like or you and I like that we're just eager to talk about.

This is something that I have almost never eaten until like the last week or so.

And we're doing it because it's something that our guest has strong feelings about.

And in fact, one of the first things I ever read by our guest, who is a writer, was this

article about or an essay really about Omurice in the New Yorker.

Anyway, we just wish to tell them who the guest is Matthew.
