And so we have hired America's leading 12-year-old political pundant Beckett to bring you his audio diaries about the DNC.

What you're about to hear are his impressions of the DNC's first night. This is Monday night's convention as seen through the eyes of Beckett.

Hey, so I just finished watching the Democratic National Convention, and I want to come on here and talk about the main points in the convention and my main likes and dislikes.

The main points of the day was rallying independent and moderate Republicans to the Democratic side for at least this election.

They also focused on the coronavirus, racial justice, and the economy.

Starting off with the racial justice, I thought it was a really good idea to have George Floyd's

brother on to highlight the tragic death of George Floyd.

The convention had a moment of silence for George Floyd's death, something I really think

was a good idea, is other speakers tried to emphasize that when it stops being like a main news story,

we still need to keep protesting and not staying silent about racial justice because then nothing

On the on the economy, they had a lot of small business owners and just people talking about

like their issues with, you know, how the trade were negatively

affected them and how, um, and how the coronavirus is really making it hard, especially with

Trump's failure to prepare or do anything, even when it was obviously a big problem.

Um, it's also really trying to wipe away the, the, um, you know, the to wipe away the, you know, the misconception that for some reason

Trump is like great for the economy, even though it's obviously he just, you know, he just inherited

a good economy from the Obama administration.

I do think this is smart because, I mean, the Democratic Party, we really need to get any votes that we can have, basically, for this election.

And even though they may not be necessary, especially in past elections, they really help in states like Ohio, Iowa, Wisconsin that are, you know, for the past couple decades have been trending more towards the GOP as like, you know, the South, the Southwest has been turning more towards the Democratic Party with, you know, changing demographics.

They also had a John Kasich on to, you know, he's a Republican.
