He's a film critic and an author.

You may have heard of a little something in your local bookstores called Hollywood Pride written by

this man. It's Alonzo Doralde. What's Good? Well, I'll tell you, Kevin, you're going to be getting

a lot of books in the What's Goods in the week to come. This is a big book exchange at

Christmas Time house.

Dave and I always give each other, you know, quite a few books. Actually, in fact, a couple

of criticisms ago, I gave him the Audrey Lord anthology edited by one of our guests tonight,

Roxanne Gaye. But this year, among the books he gave me, I have not even begun to tackle the

Derek Jarman biography Doorstop, which is a massive tome. But I am reading The Hunger, which is a

collection of film writings from Village Voice critic Melissa Anderson. She is informative and very personal and subjective, and is the kind of writer that makes me wish

I were a better writer and so reading her is both edifying and a little mortifying but I'm

really enjoying it so far and it is you know I hope it's going to encourage me to to be better at

this in 2026.

I like that you're reading something a little more uplifting.

I'm reading about, I'm reading the book Challenger by, is it James Higginboth?

And it's an interesting read, but knowing where it's going, it's like, ooh, it's kind of rough.

Yeah.

Yeah.

But I'm also always excited to hear about good reads.
