Hello and welcome to Maximum Film, episode 412. I'm your host, Kevin Avery. I don't care what anybody says. And joining me, as always, he's a film critic. Oh, thank you. Well, first, I have a quick addendum to last week's What's Good, which is that I did finally

track down the elusive Selena Gomez Oreo, and it is delicious. Cinnamon or Chata-inspired,

big fan, but I think the dark chocolate's still top of the heap for me right now,

you know, outside of the realm of the OG, of course.

My other what's good is I want to congratulate your friend of mine who has been working on a documentary for years on a topic that I think raised a lot of eyebrows to anyone who heard it.

But nonetheless, he has managed to line up his premiere at this year's Venice Film Festival.

I'm talking about my good friend David Kittridge and his movie Borman and the Devil,

which is an in-depth examination of the widely unloved Exorcist to the Heretic.

Oh.

A film that my friend David is always championed and defended. And yes, he's been on the show. Marissa reminds me. He came on to talk about real genius with us. So, yeah, he's been working on this doc, and he talked to Borman. He talked to Linda Blair. He talked to, you know, most of the surviving cast and crew members. And I saw an early cut, which I thought was great, and I think this is going to reopen conversation about a much maligned film, and I'm sure people who have hated it for decades will probably continue to do so, but I think maybe there's a shot that it might get some new fans in there. Anyway, he got into Venice. I'm super proud of him. And so that's what's good. I like it. Nice. Congrats. Yeah, congrats. I also need to rewatch the original. Just to sort of, it's a movie I had not. It's one of those movies that I never saw until relatively recently. Wait, the first exorcist? The very first exorcist. Okay. Yes. Were you too busy rewatching the computer wore tennis shoes? And the Fishery, same Pittsburgh? Yes. Yes. And the 5,000 fingers of Dr. Twilliger probably was in there too. Hey. Just all those weird ones. That's a non-in classic. That's be real. Well, guys, that other voice you hear chiming in, she's not the queen of Versailles, nor is she the queen of the Stone Age or of the Amazon. She's the damn queen of the Midwest. It's Dreia Clark. What's good? Give me time. I'll get there. I know someday. Stone Age, I got my eye on you. So many thrones.

They would have been lucky to have me as their queen.
