Amy and I went up to Indiana last weekend and I got to drive out to Warrantemaker and visit my mom, spent some time with her, had a really nice time.

And after that I drove around Indianapolis for a few hours,

and I was looking at a lot of the trees that I'd planted. And I got to visit the 7,000th tree I'd planted.

I hadn't seen it since the day that I planted it about eight years ago, and it was doing really well.

Then I went out at night to my old neighborhood in Broaddripal and went to some of the bars that I used to hang out at.

There was probably a 10-year span where I would spend at least five nights a week at these bars and I wouldn't leave till 4 a.m.

And that's some really good years. But I got to see some of my old friends and I heard there were some other friends of mine that were hanging out at the American Legion Hall. So I went ahead and walked over there, and I walked in, and the

band was playing one of my songs. And it felt pretty damn great to be back in Indiana.

I like to say right up front that I haven't

the slightest idea of what I'm doing, but I decided to do it anyway. And this show was founded

with the idea that there are only two people in art that matter. There's the creative individual

and the person experiencing it, and everything else is an artificial filter. And this is a way

for me to share things with you guys without any filters whatsoever.
