A couple of months ago, I told you the stories of a couple of abandoned yet well-preserved locations

with links to the Second World War, which took place in the middle of the 20th century.

This was the war in which the evil German dictator Adolf Hitler tried to take over Europe.

Hitler and several other power-hungry leaders caused some pretty horrific damage and loss of life

to many nations across Europe.

On one side was Hitler and his cronies, Italy and Japan, who were called the Axis.

And on the other side were the Allied forces, made up of the United States, Great Britain,

the Soviet Union and China, and a large number of smaller nations around the world.

In that past episode, that was Episode 32, we learned about the Chiselhurst Chokmine

where tens of thousands of London citizens sought shelter underground

while the Nazis bombed their homes and businesses above them.
