0:05.5	Dazzy, hello. Today we begin our multi-part episode on Hollywood legend, Clara Bow.

0:43.1	So let's get into it. Clara was born July 29, 1905 in Brooklyn to Robert and Sarah Bo. Sarah and Robert were children of English and Scots, Irish immigrants. Her father, Robert, was one of 13 children. Wow. And his mother died in childbirth when she had the youngest sibling. I mean, it would have to be the youngest. Not for the middle. No.
1:15.3	The book says that Robert was known as a, quote, stupid, ugly little guy.
1:16.1	Ooh.
1:21.4	Like right out the gate, this guy is not looked upon fondly.
1:21.8	Okay.
1:26.7	Growing up, he was obsessed with a girl in the neighborhood named Sarah Gordon.
1:28.6	Sarah was six years younger than him. And I couldn't, it didn't say like a what age. Robert started becoming infatuated with her.
1:36.7	Yeah, because that could be creepy. Well, he is creepy. Yeah. But we'll get into that later.
1:42.7	And Sarah was not interested in him back. She was probably like, it's that gross guy, Robert from the neighborhood again. Yeah. Like Robert, she also had a rough childhood. Her father was an alcoholic who beat his wife. Then at the age of 16, Sarah almost died when she fell out of a two-story window and hit her head.
