Last time, we saw one of the funniest military failures of all time, when the Bishop

Prince's full-proof plan to storm the city walls ended in chaos and defeat.

After six drunken soldiers mistook the setting sun for the rising sun

and launched the assault before all the preparations were in place,

resulting in 200 deaths and deep humiliation for the besiegers.

Two people inside Monster then came up with plans to lift the siege, both of which failed.

By the end of the last episode, Jan von Leiden hadn't devised a strategy to defeat the bishop

prince and lift the siege, but he had come up with a controversial new policy, deciding to

introduce polygamy into Munster. Now, Jan von Leiden's motivation for introducing this policy was pretty obvious.

At the current point in our narrative, Jan von Leiden has managed to acquire a total of three wives.

His original wife, who was back in Leiden raising their children,
