Hello again, patrons, and thank you for supporting the History of the Crusades podcast.

Last time we saw the siege of Munster commence.

While Bishop Prince Franz von Valdek is chewing his fingernails

and trying not to think about the enormous cost of the exercise,

armies of the bishop's men and his allies, along with a bunch of mercenaries,

have set up camp in a series of compounds stretching for nearly four miles around the city.

The bishop prince has also managed to borrow a number of cannon

and has spent up big on ammunition to supply the weapons.

Meanwhile, inside Munster, the Anabaptists have been busy

preparing to defend their town

under the able command of Jan von Leiden.

As we mentioned at the end of the last episode,

morale is currently high inside.
