I really have made education a central part of my career.

And C has been C, being a society for education,

anesthesia has really been a part of that the whole way. It's given me so much. I'm so grateful

to the organization and the people I've met through it. And people come to me all the time and ask,

how can I get more involved in education and anesthesia? This is what I want to do. And I'm always

surprised they haven't heard about C. So we are going to talk about C with some amazing people today, and you're going to get to learn more about it and how you can get involved if you want. And so I have with me first, Dr. Franklin Cladis, who's a professor of anesthesiology and perioperative medicine and is anesthesiologist in chief at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. He's also the president-elect of the organization. That's the Society for Education and Anesthesia. He's been a member since 2003.

I also have Dr. Meredith Kingeter. She is an assistant professor of anesthesiology. She practices

both cardiac and liver anesthesia. And she's the associate program director of the residency

program at Vanderbilt. And she's been a C member since 2017, and she's the chair of the membership

committee. And I have Dr. Bridget Merriquin, who is an associate professor of anesthesiology at the

University of North Carolina hospitals. She arrived in North Carolina only just last fall,

after 10 years at the University of Vermont, where she was vice chair for education and the

Associate Residency Program Director, and she completed a master's in health professions education

more recently in 2022. So all people really interested in education who have been members of

and really feel strongly about their connection to see as am I. And we're going to talk about it
