Summary

*audio is a bit quiet in this episode and it’s recommended you wear headphones so you don’t miss the good stuff! In the first episode of Season 3 Tiffany Roe meets to talk with Dr. Reid Robison and Dr. Adele Lafrance about Psychedelic-assisted Psychotherapy. In this episode they cover what different types of psychedelics there are, who is a good candidate for treatments such as this, the different mental illnesses that can be treated by psychedelics, and how psychedelics can help treat eating disorders. They also cover what it is like to attend an Ayahuasca retreat with Dr. Robison and Dr. Lafrance. Additionally, how psychologists can get training to work with psychedelics in their practices. Lastly, they also cover the potential downsides of psychedelic psychotherapy.   In the spirit of respecting and honoring the traditions from which this medicine originated, portions of the proceeds will be provided to the keepers of the land where the medicine was harvested. A portion of the proceeds will also be provided to the stewards of the land where the retreat will take place.  As mentioned in the episode you can check out the Fantastic Fungi movie here You can find Dr. Reid Robinson and Dr. Lafrance at cedarpsychiatry.com for ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP).
