Hello, everyone. Welcome to the Stephen King cast, one man's musings on the works of Stephen King.

Each week I will review one entry in the bibliography of Stephen King and the chronological order of publication.

And this week's episode is a little bit different than the typical Stephen King cast episodes.

So just so you're aware, this intro, this voice that you're hearing right now is being captured on a Yeti microphone on January 17, 2026.

But the episode itself, which you're about to hear, is from July 16, 2017.

And the episode itself is a departure from what the show typically is,

which is usually every week I sit down and I record my thoughts on something related to Stephen King,

whether it is a novel or a short story or a film or television adaptation of his works, or, you know, book reviews of horror authors,

so it's still in the realm of horror,

of which Stephen King is known to be the master of.

But this was different.

This episode was different because this was an interview

with director Josh Brucker, the writer-director of an intended film, One for the Road, which would have been an adaptation of One for the Road, the short story from Night Shift.

So typically I don't do interviews.

I, that wasn't the designation or the design of the Stephen King cast.

Typically, I just, I don't like meeting my heroes.

I, you know, but after, after doing a couple interviews here and there on the show,

I totally get the allure and the draw.

It's fun.

It's just fun to talk to people working in the field.

So I really enjoyed doing this episode.

I'm sad that this never came to fruition.
