Summary

In the fall of 2021, an adaptation of Stephen King's Jerusalem's Lot premiered. A moody, thoughtful vampire tale starring Adrian Brody, it could have--should have--been the buzzworthy show, but unfortunately, the once-in-a-lifetime's shadow of Midnight Mass covered it in generational bat's wing.  It should have been talked about. So that's why I'm here, to dig up this vampire yarn from its grave to give it life once more! As always, write in at stephenkingcast@yahoo.com Follow me on Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook and Bluesky. So, welcome back, everybody.

Let me fill you in on what is happening.

0:12.5

So long-time listeners know over the last few years, I have been exploring the endings of the works of Stephen King because I was curious

0:25.6

to see how much the endings of Stephen King's works stacked up against the perception of

0:34.0

the ending of Stephen King's works. Because there's a narrative out there that Stephen King doesn't know how to end his books.

0:40.6

Everything is great.

0:42.5

He's got good character work, solid ideas, but he doesn't know how to end his books.

0:49.9

That's what I've heard time and time again.

0:52.7

And, you know, this really came out when the HBO adaptation of The Outsider had come up.

1:02.4

I just heard that a lot, and the ending was discussed.

1:05.4

And, you know, and just in general, since the conclusion of Game of Thrones, I started thinking

1:14.2

more and more about endings.

1:16.1

And, you know, in my exploration of Stephen King's works without focusing on the endings,

1:23.7

but that initial wave of analysis that I had done for each of the works

1:29.2

in the chronological order of publication, you know, naturally I would talk about, you know,

1:32.8

the endings. I wouldn't focus as much on the endings as I did with this latest go-around.

1:38.3

But, you know, I mean, it caused me to think about, you know, his endings. It made me really reevaluate the dark tower.

1:48.2

And, for instance, so I say all this because I've thought about endings. I looked at, you know,

1:55.9

each of his endings, you know, but quite frankly, what I came to the conclusion, I feel that Stephen King,

2:07.8

he ends his books appropriate to the events leading up to the ending.

2:13.9

And I think, as I've stated before, on this podcast,
