All right, folks, welcome back to another episode of the Human Performance Outliers podcast.

0:14.4

I'm your host, Zach Bitter, and today I am bringing you a guest interview.

0:19.6

Today's guest is Jackie Hunt Burisma.

0:23.7

Jackie first came to my attention when I was preparing for a 100-mile treadmill effort back

0:30.9

during the pandemic in May of 2020.

0:34.5

And I quickly learned that Jackie had also just recently ran 100 miles on a treadmill. The biggest

0:40.9

difference was Jackie has actually been both a cancer survivor and has a prosthetic on one of her

0:48.9

legs. So she had a few extra hurdles to get over compared to me while taking on any of her running efforts.

0:56.2

And certainly it was something she had to be mindful of when preparing for running 100 miles on a treadmill,

1:01.4

as well as the vast variety of other things she's done within the running world.

1:05.7

Her story is incredibly inspirational, and it is just fascinating to me to think that Jackie wasn't even a runner

1:12.4

before she had cancer and the prosthetic. So she took on running when a lot of the odds were

1:19.8

stacked against her. She's literally about to finish a huge project as she began earlier this

1:26.1

year. So she set out this year to

1:28.2

tackle 100 marathons in 100 days. So her obligations for this project essentially is for every

1:36.2

24-hour period of time, she has to knock out a full marathon. There has been some interesting

1:40.8

things that have happened along the way, something that would make most people, I think, quit. So you're going to want to pay attention to some of the stories that she

1:48.3

has, especially when we talk about some of her most challenging sections of this project so far.

1:54.5

One of the reasons why I'm releasing this episode now is when I spoke with Jackie, she was

1:59.0

90 some days into her, into her project, and she is

2:04.2

about to hit 100 today. So if you listen to this, head over to Jackie's social profiles and
