I have a really exciting guest today.

I'm talking with Mary Kane.

This is episode 259.

Mary was the youngest American athlete ever to represent the United States at a world championships.

In 2013 at the age of 17, she was a high school standout.

Everybody knew who Mary Kane was.

She turned pro out of high school and went to run with the Nike Organ Project with Alberto

Salzar.

After winning the World Junior Championships in the 3000 and 2014, she had some great success.

But then she went on to have some major injuries and later left the Nike Organ Project.

And then last fall, many of you may have watched or read the New York Times piece that Lindsay

crousted on Mary's story.

She came out and shared her experience that included quite a bit of abuse during her time

with coach Alberto Salzar.

And a lot of battles that she was fighting alone while she was over there.

She had battled major eating disorder, thoughts of suicide, all kinds of crazy things that
