Today we're listening to episode 257 and I'm talking with Diane Newkuri.

Diane grew up in Burundi and ran in her first Olympic games in Sydney in the 2000 summer games at the age of 15.

She's now a US citizen and finished fifth at the 2016 New York City Marathon.

And is a three time Olympian.

She runs for A6 and her marathon personal record is 227.50.

Her half marathon record is 6912, which she will let you know that that is her favorite distance to race.

And she currently lives and trains in Flagstaff.

Diane and I were originally going to do this interview before the New York City Marathon last fall when she was on the start list.

And she had to pull out due to injury.

So we took some time, she took some time off.

And we decided that now was a great time to catch up and do that interview we originally planned on doing.

Diane was so kind to stay on the line for an extra 20 minutes.

Even though this episode is already so long, she stayed on for 20 more minutes.
