Summary

Welcome to the Human Performance Outliers Podcast with hosts Dr. Shawn Baker and Zach Bitter. In this episode Rob Jones joins the show. Rob is simply a fantastic human being. While serving in Afghanistan, Rob was struck by an IED and lost both his legs from the knee down. Since, Rob has chased a variety of physical endeavors including; rowing, weight lifting, triathlon, and marathon running. One of Rob's biggest physical accomplishments was completing 31 marathons in 31 days. All of Rob's recent athletic feats have been centered around raising money for wounded vets.

Afghanistan and, you know, I took care of guys like you and I got to tell you, man, it's this

tremendous seeing you where you've come from that from that hey let's get a little background going man and then we're going to get into it because just where are you from telling me about you know let's talk about when you're a little bit younger you know just did you did you do sports because obviously now you're just crushing it on on marathons and all that stuff but when you were younger you know say high school before you got into marines and stuff like that what kind of uh

uh what kind of stuff did you do yeah you know growing up in terms of sports i i played uh played

baseball and soccer like all the way until ninth grade.

And then I kind of had a late growth spurt.

So in ninth grade, I was only about, I think I was 88 pounds in ninth grade.

So I kind of fell behind on the physical aspects of, you know, the sports that I was trying to do.
