There is a conversation starting to take place, and I think you can call this a little bit of an emerging controversy, where a sporting event that I've always loved, and I said this many times, my single favorite sporting event has always been the SEC Championship. Obviously, I've been very proud as a Georgia fan to be there and watch Georgia win numerous times, but I've even enjoyed going to SEC championship games just for various reasons.
0:38.3	Even when George is not playing, it's just a really cool event. The passion's always so intense.
0:43.1	And frankly, more so than any other conference, the pride of winning an SEC championship has
0:49.9	always been so substantial that the game always feels big, frankly, no matter who is playing in it.
0:55.1	And, you know, we sort of said going into the 12-team playoff era that the unique nature of the
1:02.3	SEC and the special place the SEC championship has had in all of our lives, that that event
1:07.6	could probably withstand the inevitable change occurring around it.
1:13.0	But we also acknowledge that, listen, there are a lot of things that are going to be true
1:17.3	about a college football universe in a 12-team playoff era that we won't really know is true
1:23.3	until we actually see it play out.
1:24.9	Well, guess what?
1:25.8	That's starting to happen.
1:27.4	And we're starting to see something sort of weird play out
1:29.9	that now does call us to maybe kind of reconsider what the SEC Championship means
1:35.8	in this current world in which we're living.
1:39.9	And, you know, Kirby Smart was asked this directly yesterday of,
1:43.9	do you want to play in the SEC championship?
1:48.2	Given the fact that you want to be a playoff team and given the fact that you want the best chance to make the college football playoff and advance in the playoff once you get there.
