You know, Kirby Smart was asked what last week going into the game against Mississippi State,

hey, what does success for your defense look like in a game like this?

And he said, I want to get stops.

And that's kind of one of those interesting, you know, almost like more, I guess, to the point

than sometimes Kirby would be on stuff like that, or sometimes he sort of sidesteps questions by talking around the answer.

And this particular case sort of spoke directly to the matter at hand of, hey, the definition of success is the same as it always is.

Defense got to get off the field.

We've got to get stops, get the football back, and give our offense a chance.

And I would say against Mississippi State, some Georgia fans would say that perhaps did not quite

work out as well as you'd like for a two of, especially in the second half when Mississippi State

made a real charge in that game. But the overall definition of success does not change.

Georgia needs stops. Now, I have made my feelings clear about the Texas game

coming up on Saturday. I expect this, if it is to be a Georgia win, I expect this to be a pretty

high scoring affair. In fact, if you look at the spread and the expected point total right now,

it kind of tells the story about how you think the game might play out or maybe how the odds makers think the game might play out.

George, as you know, a point spread underdog for the first time since 2021.

And not just an underdog.
