So on Saturday, I was doing the Dog Nation Post Game show after the Georgia Mississippi

State game at the UGA bookstore.

And my family got to go to the game.

My family doesn't get to go to every single game.

I'm always really happy when they do.

Saturday was one of the rare moments this year when they've been able to come.

And so after the game, my daughter, who's nine, came up to me. And she's like, Daddy, I found your book. And I didn't really know what she's talking about, but she was pointing to the bookshelves there at the UG bookstore. And one of the things that was being sold was, you remember, we did a couple of books after each of Georgia's national championships. our friends from the AJC put these together. They were nice enough to allow me to be a part of them.

And I wrote like what you call like the epilogue, which is kind of like the column at the back of the book. And she saw one of those. And listen, this is not a story about how cool I am, but I am going to be honest here for a moment. There is nothing that makes me feel better. And maybe you've had this experience for different reasons your own life. When one of your kids is proud of you, it was a really good feeling for me to have my daughter be proud of me in that moment of, hey, I saw a book on the stand that you had a part in writing. Now, she thinks I wrote the whole book, but the point is I had a small part of writing a much larger book, but it still made her proud, which is sort of all I really cared about. Now, my reason for telling you that is this. There were two of those books, obviously, for each of Georgia's two national

championships. The first one that came out after the 2021 national championship, when I was asked

to write it, I knew immediately what I wanted to write about.

I was going to write about the feeling of seeing Georgia win a national championship, which at the time was so shortly after my dad had passed away.

And the influence that he and his dad had had on me and my Georgia fandom as I now kind of share that with my own kids as well.

And I think the emotion of that moment for me personally

matched the way that a lot of Georgia fans probably also felt given the fact that it had been

40 years since Georgia had won a national championship. A lot of folks had been waiting a very

long time. And some of the folks that spent a long time waiting lived on in our memories when Georgia actually got that done.

And so it was very easy for me to know what I wanted to write about after the 2021 national championship.
