Hello everyone, and thank you once again for listening to the saga of World War II, Acassas Belly project.

Before we get started, I have a couple of corrections to address.

First, in the previous episode, I referred to VMI as the Virginia Military Academy,

when that's obviously wrong from the initials.

It's the Virginia Military Institute.

Just a quick slip up I made and didn't notice while I was editing last time.

The second correction is from listener Adam in Oregon, who informed me that Fort Stevens is in

Oregon, not Washington. Anyway, with that out of the way, we can begin this installment, where we

essentially go back to the Eastern Front in the winter of 1941 to 42. We'll trace that out to the summer of 42.

Following this episode, I think we'll backtrack a little bit again to cover what's

been happening in North Africa.

Then after that, it's back to the Pacific for the battles of the Coral Sea and Midway.
