| 0:00.0 | Good morning everybody and welcome to the highlight of human civilization, the thing that's better than everything else. |
| 0:10.0 | It's called coffee with Scott Adams and if you'd like to take this experience up to the levels that can only be described as radospheric. |
| 0:19.0 | Well all you need is a cup or a mug or a glass, a tank or jealous of Stein, a canteen jug or flask, a vessel of any kind. |
| 0:26.0 | Fill in with your favorite liquid, I like coffee. And join me now for the unparalleled pleasure. |
| 0:33.0 | Don't put me into the day. The thing that makes everything better, it's called the simultaneous sip and happens to now go. |
| 0:45.0 | Delightful. Well we got some news today. |
| 0:50.0 | Today's theme for my live stream will be science. Science and everything it does right because science is perfect. |
| 1:03.0 | You know it's funny science has never made a mistake. No, no, no, that's not the message. It might be a little closer to the opposite of that. |
| 1:11.0 | All right here's a story from the Wall Street Journal that shows that people who eat a bunch of processed foods, they die sooner. |
| 1:20.0 | If the more processed foods you eat the more likely you are to get cancer and other stuff and die. |
| 1:28.0 | Now do you believe that that's good science? They found that people who eat the processed foods are the most likely to die sooner. |
| 1:40.0 | Do you see any problem with that science? Just on the surface. You don't know anything about it. Do you see any problem there? |
| 1:49.0 | I do. Let me ask you something. If you were to take all the people who eat processed foods, put them in one group, and then you took all the people who never eat processed foods or avoid it as much as it can, put them in another group. |
| 2:07.0 | What would be different about those groups in addition to their diets? What would be different about them? Well the obesity would be caused in part by the processed foods. |
| 2:19.0 | So that's true, but that's not what I'm looking for. |
| 2:23.0 | Do you think that the people who avoid processed foods intentionally just bear with me? If you're a person who would intentionally avoid processed foods, isn't it likely that you would also intentionally do everything else that's good for you? |
| 2:40.0 | Intentionally. You'd probably exercise. You'd probably watch how much protein to carbs you eat. You'd probably brush your teeth. |
| 2:51.0 | You'd probably do every single thing. You'd probably not smoke cigarettes. You'd probably do everything that's good for you and nothing that's bad for you. Are you surprised that those people live longer? |
| 3:05.0 | Now, I've been doing some personal experimentation with trying to avoid processed foods because I have some kind of weird allergy to something that's in a lot of processed foods, sulfites. |
| 3:19.0 | And I discovered that when I stopped eating processed foods exactly as the Wall Street Journal article says, I lost my hunger. |
| 3:29.0 | It was not weird. I lost hunger. It just wasn't hungry. I had plenty of food, but I just ate like a salmon and a piece of broccoli or something. |
| 3:44.0 | So basically no processed foods and I was not hungry ever. I would have to eat dinner just because it was time to eat dinner. Think about that. |
