What's up guys? Welcome to the podcast today. So we're going to get into some basic newbie tips for cutting weight.

0:05.5

And we're making this podcast because I've personally cut weight in a lot of different ways, right? The two big ones being one, harsh water cuts where you consume a bunch of water and then you water it out right before the fighter for your way ins, sauna sits, lots of, lots of cardio,

0:22.3

excessive amounts of cardio to shed the weight. And I've also done it where I've done it in a more

0:27.3

thoughtful approach, utilizing more of a focus on diet and things like that, and done it slowly

0:33.2

over time to where, you know, you're not, you're not just trying to do it in like a week or something

0:37.4

like that.

0:37.8

And I can tell you from doing those different types of weight cuts, I personally prefer the

0:44.2

ladder where you do it slowly over time. You feel better during training camp. You don't run

0:49.2

into as many like issues with injuries and being sick. People get sick all the time from like

0:53.9

when they're trying

0:54.6

to really hard train and at the same time they drop their intake of nutrition and everything

0:59.3

else down. And then also, you know, their performance goes down. They feel worse from it. A lot

1:03.9

of bad things come from it. And then also just body composition, right? You're going to look

1:07.4

better if you do it slowly over time, whether instead of trying to starve yourself really quickly and then going back to a normal diet, we'll get into those in just a second.

1:14.7

So these are going to be useful tips to you guys if you're getting ready to compete in a tournament.

1:19.9

And if you're just trying to lose some weight, they could be useful as well to you because, again, you're basically losing weight. It's not necessarily going to be some crazy water cut where, you know,

1:28.9

you just do it in like a 24-hour period or something like that and trash yourself.

1:32.9

So again, hopefully this is useful to you guys,

1:34.5

whether you're trying to lose some weight or for training or just lose some weight

1:38.1

because you're trying to compete.

1:39.5

As always, thanks to our sponsors for helping make this podcast to happen.
