Hey everybody. Welcome to this episode of the Bible for Normal People.

And we're going to talk about resurrection and the Hebrew Bible, which is,

it sounds maybe odd, like where is resurrection?

I don't know that was just a Christian thing, but he's written a couple books about this.

He's just a fascinating guy.

He is the Albert A. List as an endowed professorship of Jewish studies at Harvard University.

He's been there since 1988, rather.

And, you know, I mean this with all sincerity.

It's one of the privileges of my educational life to have had John Levinson as a professor

and to have him part of my dissertation committee.

And I'm not just throwing names out.

I mean, this, I learned a lot from John and from his colleague at the time, James Kugel,

also a Jewish scholar and they screwed up my life royally.

That's why I can't get down to the way.

And all the best ways.

But no, nothing like talking to knowledgeable Jews about their tradition to make you think about your own.

And I know many Christians who have had that same path.

So for me, it's just a thrill to have John on the podcast to talk about things,

about resurrection and that topic that, you know, is obviously super important for Christians.
