I am obsessed with women on the edge of change, and I've worked with hundreds of those women all around the world to help them unlock the best

0:21.5

version of themselves and fulfill their potential. If you're ready to style your mind and transform

0:27.3

your life, then you're in the right place. Let's do this.

0:36.1

All right, ladies, welcome back to the show. I am so thrilled for today's episode. I have a guest

0:42.1

that I am so in love with. She has been someone that I followed. We followed each other, I think,

0:47.5

somewhere along the way on social media. She took one of my life coaching group workshops.

0:53.1

We've become friends. We're peers. I love what she has to say. You guys are going to love this. You're in for a treat. So I'm going to welcome you, Christy Rissell, to the show. Hello, hello. Hi. Thanks so much for being here. Oh, thank you for having me. I've been so pumped about this. I can't even tell you. Oh, I love it. So, Christy, I'm going to let you give

1:11.7

the intro, the official intro to what you do. And then we're going to jump in. We're going to talk all about style and confidence today. This is something that's been on my mind, something that I've been kind of going through and dealing with in my own life and really, like, sort of inspired by. So I'm thrilled that Christy's here and give us a little brief intro

1:29.5

to kind of who you are and what you do. So I am a personal stylist and I've been doing that now for

1:35.7

about seven or eight years. And in that time, I'm really all about women just authentically

1:42.2

embracing their bodies, really authentically

1:44.5

embracing their style, which may sound like a lot of fun and fluffy things, which it is,

1:49.4

but that whole embracing who you are at your core is actually a challenging thing for a lot of

1:53.6

women. So I like to come in and help them figure out and recognize what their style is like,

1:59.2

who they are at their core, and help them kind of bring that out into their closet so that they kind of have a transformation from the inside out. Yes, which I think is so important because, you know, like you said, style is so much fun, but there's a lot of emotion attached to it, right? Like the way we dressed and I know for me getting dressed sometimes in the morning, like if I'm in a good space mentally, it's a great experience. But if I'm like feeling like crap about myself, it could be like really tough. Oh, for sure. Well, and, you know, I think it's hard, too, to try and figure out how to express who you are as a person through your clothing. I think a lot of people, you know, struggle with something like that, but I know all of us have had that experience where you go for, you know, a shopping trip with your girls or even solo or maybe you go get a fabulous haircut and you just feel like you're fucking rocking it afterwards and you're just strutting down the streets and you're just, you go about your day in a completely different manner because your confidence is just skyrocketed. And I mean, you feel so much better when you've taken care of yourself and you've curated something that makes you feel good in terms of your style and aesthetic. So it really does transform how you feel. And that's why when, you know, we've got a flu or we're feeling kind of cruddy about ourselves, that's why we go to, you know, the sweatpants that no one should see with holes in it. And you just want to curl up on the couch and just not be seen by anybody, you know? Totally. So, I mean, I want to hear like all about your journey and how you got started. Have you always been a lover of fashion? Have you always felt confident about your clothes? Take us back a little bit to

3:25.4

how you got into all of this. So I always loved clothing. My mom was actually a really big

3:31.2

influence on me in terms of clothing. She and I would do our seasonal shopping trips together

3:37.0

for school when I was younger. And I just remember being so excited about clothing,

3:41.8

probably like abnormally excited. And I would just call my girlfriends and we would talk about

3:46.7

maybe what they got in prep for school and like just the different outfits that we could make.
