Today is Halloween.

People are into scary stuff.

So how about something really scary for the rest of college football?

This is a Georgia football team right now showing a level of focus that is a real big problem for almost anybody else who would consider themselves to be a national championship contender. And as the season goes on, the whole idea of, oh, gosh, it's crazy, anything can happen,

all that stuff starts to subside.

And you sort of realize that actually the crop of teams who truly play and perform at the truly

elite level, it's actually a smaller group than maybe at one point time folks hoped.

Obviously, there's a lot of

sort of hope springs eternal type stuff at the beginning of almost every season. But that erodes as the

stress test of the season moves along. And this is the time of year where we sort of see Georgia kind of

become at its best. That's been the blueprint for the last couple of years.

It would appear to be perhaps that's the same blueprint that's about to play out here right now.

Certainly that was the case on Saturday as the calendar was about to turn to November.

Of course, this is the final day of October here today. But as the calendar gets ready to turn

towards November, Georgia starts to have that look,

a little bit of a championship type team, dispatching arrival on Saturday, but also perhaps

demonstrating a little bit of a harbinger of doom for anybody who stands in the way of Georgia

the rest of this season. And I loved how Kirby Smart talked about this on Saturday after that game against

...
