There is this saying that goes, an expert is always from out of town. And there's a Bible verse that says that no man is a prophet in his own country.

And essentially comes down to this fact that the easiest

to convince, it's easiest to convince people, this is from Morgan Howellsell, by the way,

it's easiest to convince people that you're special if they don't know you well enough to see

I've been thinking a lot about that as a leader in particular

because I heard Steve Kerr once say in an interview

that sometimes as a head coach or as a leader and you're with your people

all the time your voice becomes stale and i recently spoke to a coach tonight actually who is saying

how important it is to freshen things up to not say things to let let time pass, to make it.

And when you do speak, make sure you're speaking with intention and keeping it

sticky and keeping it exciting and letting other people speak.

And I've really been thinking a lot about communication lately and gaining and being able

to influence and impact the people you're around. And so if you're a leader

or if you're a parent and you're finding that your words are not landing or you feel like your voice

is getting stale, that's okay because that is very common. It's common to tune out a voice

that you always hear. And it doesn't

mean that you're saying the wrong things. You could be saying all the right things. And in that case,

sometimes it's helpful to get an outside voice. Someone you trust, someone that has the same values

and that can pass on the same message, but does it in their own way, in a different, in a different,
