Good morning and welcome to the Increase from Impact Podcast. I'm Justin Sua, episode 21006. There is a hard

truth that every leader, coach, parent needs to face at some point. And it's the fact that nobody is

coming to save you. No one's going to fix your situation when things aren't working.

No one's going to carry the burden and the responsibility of being the leader for you. And

that's where true leadership starts. That ownership, owning how you're going to respond,

owning your decisions, owning everything that falls within your control

because it's easy to blame circumstances to point fingers at tough situations or other people

a bad break people aren't executing the way you want them to execute it's easy to say if only I had

better players or a better team or a better roster but leadership does not live in

the if-onlys it lives in the what am I going to do about it and the best leaders the

best coaches the type of people who change programs and change organizations are the ones who are willing

to take the bull by the horns and to own the good and the bad, to own the wins and the losses,

to own the culture, to own the way they're going to respond to whatever's thrown their

way. And they also know that when things go wrong,

they're not filled with excuses. They're not filled with blame. And they're the ones who are willing

to stay, put it on me, we'll find a way. And I'm going to lead the charge in finding the way.

Now, that doesn't mean that this person

has to control everything and control everybody and take the wheel and demand and micromanage

everything, but it's willing to own everything within his or her reach, attitude, preparation,

the way you treat people, focus, all of that kind of mindset as opposed to the

victim mentality and just constantly saying I can't I can't do this great leaders also when the good

things do happen and the team does get the results and the and the organization does get the
