I've been thinking a lot about leadership lately and I think about these moments, these strange

moments that every leader goes through.

In your journey, when you look around and you start thinking,

shouldn't I be further along by now? You've read books, you've had conversations, you've made mistakes,

you've been leading or in a leadership position for many, many years. You have a lot of experience,

but still there are days where you might feel behind, uncertain of yourself, wondering if you're doing it

right. And the truth is that growth doesn't come in straight lines. It's not linear. It's not

clean. It's not predictable. And leadership doesn't care about timeline. Doesn't care about how long you've been leading

growth is a grind and it might feel like you're taking two steps forward one step

back three steps forward four steps back you start to doubt you are questioning

your effectiveness you're wondering if you're even a good leader at all.

And this is still after many years of having the title and being a leader. And if you're

experiencing that, that might not be a sign that you're failing. It's a sign that you're in it.

It's a feature, not a bug. It comes with being a leader.

It is not a weakness to say that I don't know yet, regardless of how long you've been leading.

It is not a failure to say this is hard, regardless of it how many times you've done it before.

It's actually strength to be able to admit those things. It's that

vulnerability to be able to look in a mirror and say, I'm still struggling with these things.

Because, and it's important to realize that because people aren't following you because

you're perfect. They're following you because you're being honest. You're being transparent.
