Good morning and welcome to the Increase for Impact Podcast. I'm Justin Sua episode 2097. I was recently

listening to a jazz artist talk about music and describing how great music is created in jazz.

And he's talked about how there's a moment in jazz called The Rest.

about coaching and how sometimes the most powerful move isn't stepping in, it's stepping back.

And while control feels productive, it feels safe, it feels like that's what leaders do.

being rescued. The leader doesn't have to come in and save them. And so what I want to invite you to

do is to consider something called strategic restraint. And to realize that it's not a passive

thing. It's actually precision. It's intentional.

It's trusting that growth often happens in the space between what you say and their decision on whether or not to take action.
