Good morning and welcome to the Increase Your Impact Podcast. I'm Justin Sua, episode 2096. I've seen a lot of leaders,

a lot of coaches, and there is a trait that many of the best ones have that I want to explore today.

It's clarity, not being smart, not being motivational, it it's being clear because when your people know

exactly what you expect they're able to breathe easier they're able to relax they don't have to guess

or second guess what you're thinking they could just move with purpose. Because confusion kills confidence.

And as a leader, as a coach, you probably see it in their body language. They have tight shoulders.

They hesitate. Players keep checking into the dugout of the sideline looking for answers that should have been given two days ago.

And many in many times it's not a talent problem. It's a

clarity problem. And sometimes we think holding back is helpful, waiting to correct, softening the

message, hoping they'll just get it. But many times it only leads to frustration. Because unclear, it is not, it's not a neutral thing.

It's actually unfair.

It's unfair when you're unclear.

Because being clear is a way of saying that I see you.

I respect you.

I want you to succeed.

When roles are defined, goals are aligned, language is consistent, things are sharper. People

move sharper. They make better decisions. The fog lifts and your culture and the trust gets just better.

So my invitation to you this week is to take a look at the level of clarity that you're giving to

everybody on your team. Give them the gift of clarity that you're giving to everybody on your team.

Give them the gift of clarity. Tell them the truth. Tell it early. Tell it often.

You want to set the bar, let them know, define the bar, define the culture, and then walk them towards it and set the example. And another thing, it's not controlling. Clarity isn't controlling.
