2095. I recently heard this contrast between being a reservoir leader versus a river leader.

A reservoir, as many of you know, holds things in. It stores up, it's a leader who stores knowledge,

stores experience and energy and lessons learned. It doesn't flow and it keeps everything for

itself. And eventually it gets stagnant. A river on the other hand, it's always moving. It takes

things in. It gives. It flows outward. It

refreshes everything around it. As a leader, you don't want to be a reservoir leader.

That person who collects wisdom and has experiences but never shares it. You hold back information

because you want to look good. You want to store it for yourself. You want to keep your influence to yourself. You're not aiming to make others better. Now, a river leader is completely opposite. This is the person who takes what they learn and they pour it out to others. They energize others. They help others flourish.

They share their time.

They give their attention.

They invest in people.

And these are the people who pour into others.

River leaders are the types of people who create momentum.

They are always moving.

they keep they finger point they stand on this pedestal or this ivory tower and try to make other

people look bad because they don't want anyone to get better than them they just are stuck they're

just not moving they're not growing they don't want to become better themselves and as a result they don't want to get better than them. They just are stuck. They're just not moving. They're not growing.

They don't want to become better themselves. And as a result, they don't want to make others become better or grow other people. And so my invitation to you is to take a look at yourself

and identify what type, where do you lean? Do you lean more towards a reservoir leader or do you lean more towards a river
