Hello and welcome back to another episode of the Year of Polygamy podcast. I'm your host, Lindsay,

0:16.2

and I'm excited to be recording another episode with y'all. Today, of course, I'm bringing back a good

0:22.8

friend of the podcast, someone who's been a repeat guest, Dr. Christina Rosetti, and she's going to

0:28.0

talk about an article that she just published in Dialogue, which of course is a Mormon historical

0:34.0

and cultural publication that I respect that you should all support.

0:43.2

Christina's a fantastic writer. She's also a great friend of mine. We've been on many adventures together. And for those who aren't aware, Christina is not a Mormon. She actually is Catholic,

0:49.7

and she studies Mormonism. She's a religious studies scholar. She's also a professor of

0:54.9

humanities at Utah Tech in southern Utah. She's also a co-adventure with me. We've studied

1:00.9

many things together and been on many adventures. So it's a delight to have her back on talking

1:06.6

about this crazy amazing article that she wrote. Before we get into the interview, I want to give

1:11.9

1:17.9

that like it doesn't even mean anything anymore and, you know, people attribute it to woke culture

1:23.2

or whatever you, wherever you stand. That's your business. For me, this actually really needs a trigger warning because, you know, I've been, I've been

1:32.3

really open up with this podcast.

1:34.3

I've been open about my struggles in the Mormon community because I feel like that

1:38.6

vulnerability was something that I was not given growing up as a mainstream Mormon girl in the church. And that vulnerability from

1:46.5

other people was what I needed. Honesty was what I needed. And so I've been vulnerable,

1:51.2

sometimes too vulnerable online. I've had to learn boundaries over the years as well. But one thing

1:55.4

I've been very open about talking about is my eating disorder. I think, gosh, like one of the very first interviews I did with

2:02.4

Mormon stories years and years back was me talking about my struggle with eating disorders.

2:08.4

It's something that I have battled since I was 17. And, you know, I keep trying to figure out

2:13.0

which adjectives I want to use here, like battled and struggled and survived, all these things.
