Hello and welcome back to Ackrack. I'm Jed Walpaw and I am excited to be here today with

two fantastic student doctors for a show that I think will be really really useful for a lot of

folks out there. So I have with me the president of the American Society of

Anesthesiologist Medical Student Component. Her name is Stasia Gribon. She's a fourth year medical student at St. George's University and we also have Abigail

Sherman who's the president-elect of the American Society of Anesthesiologist

Medical Student component and she's a third year student at the Florida State University College of Medicine.

So I think really a powerhouse duo here to help us think through this important topic.

And that topic is what is on the minds

of medical students in applying an anesthesiology

going into this unprecedented year of applications that has been completely reshaped by the COVID epidemic or pandemic.

So what we've done, and I'm really grateful to Stasia and Abbey for this is that they reached out

and created a survey they reached out to their membership so to a huge number of students throughout

the country and asked them what their concerns are, what questions they have,

what's on their minds as they head into this unprecedented application season.

And then they sent them to me and I then sent them out to program directors in

anesthesiology across the country and got a lot of great

responses back as a way to kind of get a feel to share with students

of what PDs are thinking about their concerns this year.

So we're now gonna go through that.

Abby and Stasia are gonna take us through some of the questions

and I'll do my best to summarize the responses of the PDs.
