Hello and welcome back to Ackrack. I'm Jed Woolpaw and I am thrilled to have with me today

once again Dr David Berman who frequent listeners will, has been on the show a couple times at least doing some really interesting stuff.

We talked about the speed at which fluid flows through different catheters.

We talked about some OB stuff at another time.

And I believe Dr. Berman actually interviewed me,

and I remember it, was it for the 100th anniversary episode or something?

Yeah, I think it was a milestone episode.

I think it was a hundred.

Yeah, it was fun, whatever it was.

Renowned for his intelligence and his dad jokes, which I'm sure will come up at some point during this episode.

I've got him back on the show and I'm thrilled to have him and I'll say that it's going to be a really interesting episode.

Dr Berman, in addition to doing OB anesthesia

and being a part of the residency leadership team

here at Hopkins, also is doing a master's in medical education.

And as part of that, he's really spent a lot of time thinking about evidence-based teaching,

and specifically evidence-based teaching in anesthesiology, of course, since that's his specialty.

And so we decided to have him on the show and to talk about what the evidence tells us about how to do the best possible parioperative teaching that we can do.

And so I think this is going to be really useful for anyone out there who is teaching

residents, medical students, even other faculty in private practice and wants to know how can I do this

in a way that the evidence suggests is really efficacious.

And so let's jump right in.
