Today on the show, I'm excited to share my

recent conversation with Basket Dolls founder and gender reveal grant winner, Devin Myers.

Devin was actually the very first person to submit an application for our 2024 grant cycle,

so I spent like a month seeing Basket Dolls at the top of the list and like quietly crossing

my fingers for them because I don't actually judge the grant myself.

Needless to say, I was very excited when Basket Dolls received a grant this year and even more excited to chat with Devin about Basket Dolls on the show today.

We talk a lot about what it is, how it started, why it mattered, and also how you

can organize a similar event pretty easily if you so choose. We also talk about Devin's experiences,

growing up in youth sports, fleeing Florida, and working at the gay Cracker Barrel. But before we get

to that, I just want to say a quick happy New Year and a happy

7th anniversary of the Gender Reveal podcast. When I first officially launched this show in January of

2018, I did not at all anticipate what it would grow into, or what I would grow into, but not only

have we put out 12 and a half seasons of this podcast, plus an entire extra Patreon podcast,

and not only did we spin off a touring comedy show in an international holiday, in an award-winning

anthology of Fast and Furious Content, we have also distributed $383,000 in grants and mutual aid and artist funding.

And folks, that's nuts. What?

383,000.

So I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone who has ever donated even a dollar to that cause.
