Summary
Thank you for joining us for another episode of the Low Carb MD Podcast. We are very excited to bring you this interview with Dr. Layne Norton—a bodybuilding coach, pro bodybuilder, pro powerlifter, and founder of Carbon and BioLayne—David Mathas—a health coach and former army medic—and Randy—a man with an amazing health journey who is currently working on his Masters in Psychology.
In the first hour of this interview, Randy shares the story of his incredible health journey from weighing, at one point, 500lbs, to today, having lost 285lbs and being in the best shape of his life. He talks about the different types of diets he tried along the way, the psychology behind his successes and failures, and how he utilized psychology to motivate himself into re-dedicating himself to health after re-gaining a lot of weight.
Additionally, David Mathas talks about how he worked with Randy as his health coach to tailor a way to help him lose all of the weight he had put back on. He shares about how to not only achieve weight loss, but how to achieve weight loss sustainability, and the importance of building muscle for weight loss.
In the second hour, Layne, Brian, and Tro discuss flexible dieting, the psychology behind binge eating and different perspectives on how to address it, and the importance of weight loss for achieving metabolic health.
Listen to the end for a special guest appearance from a mystery guest!
