What I like to do is first lay down a kind of

syncopated beat that isn't so much about

What it is all together. It's more about the modulation and what it is once it starts. It's a little bit of a groove

So it goes like so the pattern is you ride on this tom here. Hopefully you've got the 17 tom's and it goes something like this
