The President Welcome to Yoga Download. I'm Kristen Gibelwitz, and I'm so glad you're here with me in this beautiful spot.

Today we're going to talk about yoga for weight loss.

Now, two really important keys to how yoga can affect weight loss.

One, the movement aspect.

So if you have more of a vinyasa style, a resistance style class,

you're going to burn more calories. So that's a good thing. But also restorative yoga is

great for weight loss in that. It drops you from your fight or flight into your rest and digest,

which is the parasympathetic nervous system.

And it's really important for the sake of cortisol

and just slowing down so that the body can restore itself.

So today, we're going to move. Don't get me wrong, but then there's gonna be an

So many times we step into this idea of I gotta lose weight from a space of shame or guilt and yoga helps us

unite our minds our bodies spirit with a sense of gratitude for the fact that we

can move we can breathe today and we have this body this vessel to work with and

So let's begin. We're going to start in child's pose just for a moment.

Bring your knees wide and toes to touch.
